Yes. Fikola operates as a cost-sharing platform in compliance with Swedish transport regulations (Transportstyrelsen). Drivers may only charge for actual costs (fuel, tolls, wear and tear) divided equally among all passengers. No profit is permitted. This distinction keeps Fikola legal and affordable.
Our system calculates trip costs based on distance, estimated fuel consumption, and the driver's vehicle type. This total is divided equally among all passengers, including the driver. Drivers may adjust the suggested price within our calculated maximum to ensure compliance with Swedish cost-sharing laws. All prices are displayed upfront with no hidden fees or commissions.
Absolutely. Fikola serves all of Sweden, from Malmö to Kiruna. We launch with 50+ routes across the country, including major corridors like Stockholm-Gothenburg, Stockholm-Malmö, and Gothenburg-Oslo. If you travel long distances (over 50km) anywhere in Sweden, Fikola works for you.
Safety is our priority. All users must verify their email address before accessing the platform. Profiles include photos, written reviews from past rides, and transparent user history. Communication remains within our secure messaging system until you approve a ride. We enforce strict community guidelines and respond quickly to reported violations. Always read reviews, communicate clearly with your ride partner, and trust your instincts.
The Founding Member price (59 SEK/year) is locked until January 2027. After one year, pricing may increase to reflect market rates. You will receive 30 days' notice before any price change. You can choose to accept the new price, downgrade to a free browsing tier (if available), or cancel your subscription. Your Founding Member badge remains on your profile regardless of your decision.
